Original oil painting Beach Babes by Karen Tarlton - children on the beach

Beach Babes
Oil
SOLD

I've been busy this week, but this painting sums up everything pretty well.
Moving to the beach and I feel like I've gone full circle with my life.
22 years ago we lived in San Diego and our first daughter was born there.
She's now graduating from college and we're moving back!
I'll be painting in the very same spot where it all started.
Isn't that something?

Original oil painting Beach child sandcastles by Karen Tarlton

Sandcastles
12x16
Oil

Inspiration for this painting:
I have one daughter in studying abroad in Europe and another singing on spring break
in China. So - both babies are grown young women with some serious sandcastle building skills I think!
This is really how it all began....... and I remember these days like they were yesterday.
Hours of sandcastle building on the beaches of Florida and Southern California where we were stationed.
Carefree days of summer....
