Original paintings Seaspray and SeaFoam by Karen Tarlton - abstract palette knife impressionism

I moved to San Diego about a year ago
and I as an artist, I fall deep into my environment.
Ocean and abstracts just seem to go together in my mind.

I start with a vision. Emotion of the moment when the sea waters caress the rocks and become ripples of color and fluid energy.

Happy Cow Original oil painting by Karen Tarlton

Sometimes I'm just in the moo-oood
for a sweet, laid back, farm animal like a happy cow.
So much fun.
Hope you enjoy!

Original oil painting by Karen Tarlton - "Violin Melody" and "Heron"

These two are a couple of my favorites.
The first is a new one in my musical notes series.
I use sheet music, varnish and medium and then lots of oil paint.
It's a unique one of a kind painting.
The Heron is one of my spirit birds.
Along with the Hummingbird, this waterbird finds me, in my dreams
and when I take my daily walk along the water. I always see one.

 Each is 10x20
