Original oil painting Violinist "Blue Note" by Karen Tarlton - palette knife fine art impressionism

I dedicate my life to art, so ideas surround me, and I find beauty everywhere. The richness of life is where I find my inspiration, from the wonderous to the sadness. Music, too, is a big part of my journey. From Bach and Tchaikovsky to jazz and rock, I always have music playing while I am painting. Music is a perfect inspiration.

Original oil painting Wonders of the Seashore by Karen Tarlton

Wonders of the Seashore
20x24
Oil

I don't care how old our kids get,
I think we always remember them as children
and are always our babies.

A charming and special Summer beach memory in vivid, rich oils and my modern impressionistic style. I think it’s these special carefree moments in time that are the most precious, and the ones we look back on tearfully as our children grow up. This original oil painting is rich with color and texture. Thickly sculpted with expressive palette knife movements, I capture a young girl enjoying the wonders of the ocean.

Original oil painting Summer Beach Girl by Karen Tarlton

Summer Beach Memory
20x20
Oil
www.etsy.com/shop/Karensfineart

We had a lovely day running on the beach yesterday.
A BEACH RUN is the best painting inspiration!

My daughter and I are running together everyday now -
although I don't quite keep up with her yet, I'm getting faster!
(I think the new vegan diet helps with speed too)
There are lots of vacationing families enjoying the sand
and I love to people watch,
especially the smaller children.

6 more weeks with my daughter before she goes off to college!
(I'll be painting lots more little girl paintings I think)

Spring fever has hit....it's all about the warmer weather and flowers and plans for Spring break.
I'm off to take a closer look at more colleges I'm afraid. Found out today our daughter got accepted into a bunch of great UC Schools, even her top pick one....UC Berkeley! She got a scholarship to University of San Diego so I'm secretly routing for that one, but she's got some amazing choices. I wish I were 18 and going to college again! What fun!
Hope you all enjoy some warmer weather and have nothing but great blessings and good fortune! More warm and happy art on the way!!!

THE PAINTING:
It is so hot that I am really missing the breeze at the beach. Some of my favorite memories as a child and with my own children are beach memories. This painting is rich with great textures from both knife and brush and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it!

I love painting windswept landscapes with women and flowers....so romantic. My eye is drawn to the woman in white surrounded by sweeping color. Fun to paint with extreme texture, lots of impasto oil color and expressive brushwork. Posting on auction so I hope it tugs at someone's heart!

A Little Girl in Sunflowers

Size: 20 x 24
Medium: Oil on stretched canvas

PAINTING AND INSPIRATION:
I'm in love with my daughters and fond of Sunflowers so I thought this a lovely combination. On this Thanksgiving day I think about how lucky I am and what a wonderful life I have and hope you all do too. I'm most grateful for my fantastic family and they are a constant inspiration for many of my paintings. Little girls are a joy to paint. This painting is rich with texture and color and this photo doesn't do it justise at all. Lots of work and love went into this one!
