Original oil painting Sandcastles by Karen Tarlton

Sandcastles
12x12
Oil

I'm thinking of beaches and beach memories, which always involve our daughters.
I love how children are care free and enchanted with something as simple as wet gloppy sand. They can take the muck and make it into something beautiful and enjoy the whole process.
Yep....I was also talking about me.  ;)

Beach Girls original oil painting by Karen Tarlton

12x12
Beach Girls
Oil
SOLD
As time goes by so swiftly, I love to paint by memory moments that are etched in my mind like this, my daughters when they were little, hand in hand at the beach. They didn't often swim in the ocean but loved dancing at the edge of the waves and I can still hear their squeals of delight as each one crashes at their feet!

Children on the Beach

Title: Children on the Beach
Size: 18 x 24
Medium: oil on stretched canvas
THIS PAINTING IS SOLD
ABOUT THIS PAINTING:
I really love this painting so it has a slightly higher price, though still very very low, as auction prices must be! Not only am a quite fond of this oil, but it took a long time to paint. I let it dry imbetween stages and it has at least 5 layers of oil paint and fantastic texture and color. Inspired by the four years I spent at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, near Fort Walton Beach, this painting brings back many fond memories, and is a lovely focal point painting.
