Original oil painting by Karen Tarlton - "Violin Melody" and "Heron"

These two are a couple of my favorites.
The first is a new one in my musical notes series.
I use sheet music, varnish and medium and then lots of oil paint.
It's a unique one of a kind painting.
The Heron is one of my spirit birds.
Along with the Hummingbird, this waterbird finds me, in my dreams
and when I take my daily walk along the water. I always see one.

 Each is 10x20

Blue Heron original oil painting by Karen Tarlton

" How much more there is now to living! Instead of our drab slogging forth and back to the fishing boats, there’s reason to life! We can lift ourselves out of ignorance, we can find ourselves as creatures of excellence and intelligence and skill. We can be free! We can learn to fly!"- Richard Bach, Jonathon Livingston Seagull

A couple new "Blue" paintings that are new favorites of mine.
I'm a fan of this special water bird.
It's always a surprise and wonder when you chance upon one in the wild
and I woke up one morning and just had to paint it.
My Rain Girl is just because I LOVE the rain!
