Valentine's day is around the corner and I can't think of a more romantic

place than Paris.

This is one of my favorite spots and has been painted by many artists,

some famous like Van Gogh and others.

Part of the romance of this city is the rich history.

You can just sit on these steps and feel it.

Lots of my favorite blues and pops of gold highlight are one of my favorite combinations.

There's something magical about a beach a sunset, especially if you're arm in arm with the one you adore.

We are expecting a mix of snow and ice rain here tonight. I'm missing the warm sun like some of you, so maybe this one will warm your heart. Warm color fills the canvas and I feel this painting is all about love, with it's bright color and positive energy, hence the title.

I've had this painting, one of my favorite Romance landscapes on eBay in my store for awhile and decided to run it at auction for a lower price. It is actually in a gallery right now and if it sells there I will have to pull the auction, but if it gets a bid on eBay, I will pull it out of the gallery!
As some of you know, our family is doing another big military move at the end of this month and we are starting to stress! There is a lot to do and of course our teenagers are in the middle of finals so stress is at its maximum!
I will continue listing paintings on eBay however, even during my move! It won't take long for us to get there and we are machines when it comes to unpacking 300 boxes! You can expect some great new paintings in the next few weeks for sure!

PAINTING AND INSPIRATION:

I used primarily knife on this original and lots of rich artist oils. It is backlit with a misty and lovely light grey background and then pushed over the top with bold reds, oranges and yellows. I love painting a path and try to make it invite the viewer into the painting so it tells its own story....yours.

It's very cold here and I am ready for some Spring weather! I think instead we might get more snow!

One of my favorite palette knife paintings. Big pulls of rich, buttery paint across the canvas....just amazing to watch the blank canvas turn into an evocative image like this. I listened to the rain today while painting this painting and it was a lovely, calm Sunday with my family. This colorful piece tells a story of love and is full of life and passion...I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it!

PAINTING:

This original oil is explosive with reflective color and heavy with textured paint. I used all my favorite colors in this one and it has many layers of broken color applied with palette knife in bold swipes and drags giving it a loose an impressionistic look.

INSPIRATION:

It's been awhile since I painted a romantic Paris scene and I love to paint people from another era.
