Paris Romance original oil painting by Karen Tarlton

14x18
Paris Romance
Oil
This is a favorite Valentine's Day painting of mine!  If I had a choice, I would be in Paris, in the rain, with my husband, sipping a fabulous red wine and watching the world go by.  The city is fabulous but you have to sit back and relax and just soak it in! It's all about romance!
Happy Valentine's Day. Even if you can't be with the one you love on this day...... it's the mindset that counts!
Here's a great Etsy treasury to get you in the mood:

Lots of different colors and layers of paint are in this lovely cityscape! When we visited Paris a few years ago, I took many photos and made numerous sketches and little pochades. I've painted this city dozens of times because of it's beauty, history and amazing ambiance!

Original oil painting Paris Eiffel Tower by Karen Tarlton

Eiffel Tower Abstract
24x30

I love the pulls and drags of some of my abstract palette knife works involving rain people and animals so I combined a bit of architecture into this one.
Blurred abstract lights and brilliant contrasting color bring a bit of city swank to the canvas, and add color and sophistication to this textural painting.

Original painting - Paris - by Karen Tarlton

12x12
Paris Eiffel Tower
Oil

I love these new little square paintings!  They look great without a frame, especially in a grouping so if you hang three of four together it's a great look.  Here I painted a lovely Paris scene very impressionistic with lots of texture and bits of color throughout the painting.  Pops of teal set off the yellow and draw you in!
Hope it inspires you!

Red Umbrella in Paris Rain

Title: Red Umbrella in Paris Rain
Size 20 x 24
Medium: oil on stretched canvas
Thought I would share another Paris reflective painting. Lots of light! My focus was on keeping the painting real loose with lots of contrasting color and texture. Drags and pulls of palette knife and many layers of color make it glow!
