It didn't thunder storm and pour like it does in the south
but it did get a tiny bit wet.
It was fantastic!

Repainting
a room is the most inexpensive way to give new life to a space
following rearranging the furniture. But the most visual impact comes
from placing new or newly framed artwork on your walls. Your artwork is
an extension of your inner personality. So, show it off!
I rather like the colors in this painting. Blue and gold are some of my favorite color
harmonies when used together.

Tapestry of Color
Oil
I'm really liking the perspective of these latest fall landscape paintings.
I have a new large one I'm presently working on which will be finished some time next week. I'm also loving all these luscious, dreamy transparent colors of Autumn!
I am not one to settle on one particular theme or even style as you know. I love landscapes from my plein air painting days. Mostly palette knife but a bit of brush work here and there on this one and it has quite a plein air feel. Many layers of color and quite a stunner I think.
I believe an artist should learn many styles and tools of painting. Some feel they should limit themselves to just brushes or the knife in order to maintain a consistency of style. Many of the great masters of past and present disagree, and so do I. I do think it's a good idea for a beginning artist to paint exclusively with a brush for a time (a period of years perhaps) and then exclusively with a knife for a time. In my case, that period of time painting with a knife has turned into aboout 15 years now. Every now and then I'll use both, but I am in love with this versatile instrument....the palette knife!
I enjoy how the knife completes a painting! Hope you enjoy!
Available for purchase and one of my favorite fisherman paintings right now. I enjoyed the play of warm and cool colors and the whole time I painted this I was remembering fishing with my Uncle whom I just adore! He's a great fisherman.
Like a tapestry. I look at a landscape's light and atmosphere and enjoy painting Autumn scenes because of the interplay between shadow and light. I was drawn to the depth and contrast of colors of these trees and punched up the color and hardened and softened various edges to draw the eye.
One of the most wonderful things is bringing a painting to someone's house and hanging it on their wall, and seeing the impact it makes to the room! Every once in a while I get the pleasure of doing this, but most of my works are shipped off to decorate your homes far away from me.
I always enjoy when you send me a photo of it hanging in your room and thank you for the many people who take the time to share!
In the spirit of enlightenment, here's wishing everyone a happy fall equinox, which begins tomorrow at dawn: May the sun shine on your fall harvest, even as darkness inches ahead of the light.

"There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind". ~Washington Irving
"Somebody just back of you while you are fishing is as bad as someone looking over your shoulder while you write a letter to your girl. " ~Ernest Hemingway
I don't fish myself but have many relatives and friends that do and I love to watch them fish. It's quite an art! I also love to eat the fish they catch......fresh with a little lemon, butter and dill! Of course I love to paint them most of all.
Holidays are coming before you know it, so if you need the perfect gift...look me up soon.
Brand new and still a bit wet but available for purchase!
Beautiful color and rich thick paint. I backlit the trees in a soft silvery grey. Really makes the reds and yellow pop and buttery palette knife movements add depth and wonderful texture.

I love these two quotes and they seem to suit my prolific style:
"I dream a lot. I do more painting when I'm not painting. It's in the subconscious." ::: Andrew Wyeth ::: "When I work, I work very fast, but preparing to work can take any length of time." ::: Cy Twombly :::
"Everyday you spend without a smile, is a day lost."
LOVE, love, love....love is all you need! And a really warm coat! It's even cold here in Vegas so I really feel for all the people in cold places like Chicago....yikes! Bundle up and stay warm and keep the faith...Spring will come. Ground hog says, early this year and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
This painting is thick and has lots of cool blues which makes that yellow/gold fall tree pop right off the canvas. Hope this one brings a smile and warms your heart!
"There are only two way to live your life: as though nothing is a miracle, or as though everything is a miracle. " ~ Albert Einstein
I guess I am a complete romantic at heart. I met my husband.....love at first sight when I was 16 years old and we've been together 29 years. Need I say more?
My romance landscapes come from my heart, and I am honored when they find a place in yours!
Gorgeous red, golds and blues in super thick oil! Laying cool against warm colors makes this painting glow. I always strive for large, dramatic effects, and applying paint with the palette knife adds texture, and movement while refining shapes and edges....so much fun!
I love painting landscapes with thick paint and rich color! This painting is large and would make quite a focal point in any room.
I've been painting at least 6 hours a day lately and tomorrow I need to take a few hours off and get some excersize and maybe if I'm lucky a little sunshine! It might reach 60 degrees here tomorrow and I'm excited to feel the sun and play some tennis!!!
