Custom original oil paintings, peacock, cow and nautical work by Karen Tarlton
I've been busy the past few weeks painting several custom works for collectors.
Several are rather large so it's been wonderful and I'm working on another large one tomorrow in my studio!
I love painting special pieces for your home so if you missed one and someone else bought it or you need a special size, let me know :)
The trickiest part for me is always the titles....mmmmm any ideas for these?

Handscome isn't he, just watching us walk by.
We ate our packed lunch watching peacocks after a hard day of gardening at the local nature center garden. Here we are planting, mulching and watering. A nice weekend to volunteer!
And find some inspiring peacocks to paint!

Inspiration:
I recently had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Ken Dial speak.
He is an expert on birds and spoke about the origin of flight as it is related to birds.
Fascinating and makes me want to paint many more bird paintings
so you'll see some new ones added to my usual
peacocks, roosters, hummingbirds and owls.
As it turns out, the peacock may be the most flamboyant,
but the hummingbird is the bravest and most powerful!

He looks like he's ready to strut so I like my snazzy new title.
Used a lot of my favorite teal on this brand new peacock.
This one is brand new and almost dry! Super thick paint and vivid expressive color.
