Breathtaking Blue Blooms

Oil

The one on top is actually very large and the painting below small

but both are new favorites!

Crazy texture in both of these.

This is a close up of the painting above

super thick!

Hummingbird Dance

Oil

I'm in love with these little guys.

Dancers of the air.

Wish I could.

My thoughts are with those in the path of Sandy today.

Batten down the hatches and stay safe!

Original palette knife painting Blue Iris Flowers by Karen Tarlton

A garden inspired palette knife work. Blooming with golden rays of sunshine peeking through. Joy!!

Life feels so rushed lately.....need more hours in the day.

It's important to remember

You can, by simply closing your eyes, leave home without ever leaving the room,

You can feel the sun on your face and the cool wind in your hair

Breathe deep and imagine all the scents; perfumed roses, lavender and the sound of bees buzzing.

You don't have to run too fast

You don't have to leave for a moment.

"Every artist dips his own brush
Into his soul
And paints his own nature into his pictures." ~ Henry Ward Beecher

Garden inspired art and a bit Van Gogh inspired I must admit.  He has always been one of my favorite impressionist painters.  The first whimsical artist of his time.  Hope this makes you smile......
