Beach Girls original oil painting by Karen Tarlton

12x12
Beach Girls
Oil
SOLD
As time goes by so swiftly, I love to paint by memory moments that are etched in my mind like this, my daughters when they were little, hand in hand at the beach. They didn't often swim in the ocean but loved dancing at the edge of the waves and I can still hear their squeals of delight as each one crashes at their feet!

Original oil painting Tuscany Flowers palette knife fine art by Karen Tarlton

Tuscany Flowers
9x12

I love painting something really old with thick, chunky oils generated with my little palette knife!
I can create thick cracks and stonework detail this way and really get the old Italy feeling!
Italy is my happy place and I hope it brings a smile to you too!

New Orleans Jazz in the Rain original oil painting by Karen Tarlton

New Orleans Jazz in the Rain
10x20
Oil

New Orleans is a soulful place so I always paint it in bold color! This one has thick paint and contrasting warm and cool colors to give it a moody feel. I hope it stirs some emotion and helps communicate something about this unique city.

City Lights original oil painting by Karen Tarlton impressionistic palette knife fine art

12x24
City Lights
oil
SOLD
I wanted to create sort of a foggy, or misty look so I used soft greys, blues and lavender for depth and warm pops of gold, yellow and red to really light it up! I love the look.....sort of mysterious. What city is it?  Well that's up to you!
