These colorful, whimsical palette knife paintings are so much fun to paint and so much fun to look at. I am a big believer in art should lift your spirit and somehow make you feel better, both when creating it and when gazing upon it! Who knew fruit could make one smile? I hope you enjoy them...available on my Etsy.....brand new and need at least a week to dry!

I love the Cotswolds, although it was a little cold for me when we visited last Spring....and of course it was raining a bit. But it is the most adorable place. We stayed in a town called Bourton on the Water, a place right out of a Peter Rabbit story....Lovely!

"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for~ Georgia O'Keeffe

I like this quote for it seems I am often at a loss for words. I don't paint this large often but lately have had an urge to paint big! Huge amounts of paint on this canvas and it really lights up the room.....

I hope it inspires you!

Warm Glow of Night

Here is an example of a pet portrait and I love to paint these!

This is my little Maggie and I think I captured her perfectly!

Let me know if you are interested in a painting of your pet!

Title: Warm Glow of Night

Rich deep pulls of color. This painting adds dramatic impact to a space and bold color.

Available for purchase....see my Etsy link to the right of my blog.

Didn't get much sleep last night....my Maggie dog spent the night very sick. We took her to the vet yesterday morning after discovering she devoured a huge bag of chocolates my daughter left on the ground of her room....this is an 18 lb dog. The vet gave her a hygrogen peroxide blend to make her vomit most of the chocolate, but a lot of it had already entered her system. Taking her probably saved her life though because she was getting very very sick and now I think she's much improved. I'm glad she's alright! Poor dog.

Still wet but available for purchase....see Etsy link to the right for more details.

Painted in honor of our daughter's 18th birthday today! This one reminds me of her and is symbolic on many levels. She is a beautiful young woman and has a soaring and colorful spirit. She just found out she got an academic scholorship to an excellent university in SD and we are so excited for her. Just as this wild horse seems to almost lift off in flight, she will soon be moving on to her new life and I can't even begin to say how proud I am of her and how heart wrenching it is at the same time to know the child stage of my parenting is successfully complete! She may be all grown up but she will always be my baby girl!

I love this painting's soul and youthful energy....I hope you enjoy it too!

Birch color! Great texture...super thick. This is available but need at least a week drying time before it can be shipped.

People say my paintings are cheerful and I suppose they are, as so much as a tree can be joyous I guess mine are. I am generally a positive and content person so I guess my work demonstrates that. I think the bright colors contribute to this feeling and certainly when you hang my "happy" paintings on your walls, they must bring smiles....I hope so.

Happy Friday all!

I love painting landscapes with thick paint and rich color! This painting is large and would make quite a focal point in any room.

I've been painting at least 6 hours a day lately and tomorrow I need to take a few hours off and get some excersize and maybe if I'm lucky a little sunshine! It might reach 60 degrees here tomorrow and I'm excited to feel the sun and play some tennis!!!
