New large original oil painting "Three Free Spirits" wild horses by Karen Tarlton

close up

Horses always inspire me. Such beautiful creatures.

“A dream, all a dream, that ends in nothing, and leaves the sleeper where he lay down, but I wish you to know that you inspired it.”
—Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

Original oil painting Wild Horses by Karen Tarlton

If I could I would live on a ranch with lots of different animals
but I would especially love riding the wind with these animals.
They are magical and wonderful animals.
Love painting them in a thunderous wild race
in broad strokes of rich, buttery oil paint.

Animal paintings by Karen Tarlton

I LOVE this horse painting and actually if doesn't sell right away I wouldn't mind keeping it awhile :)
Something about the bright colors and motion of this one and I have a sweet simple frame
that will work just great with it.

The more I paint animals the less meat I eat.
I used to be a vegetarian at one point in my life
and I've decided to do my best to go vegan once again.
If you read a book called "The China Study" you'll understand it's much healthier
but I think for the sake of the planet and the animals, it's also best.
Anyway how cute is this little guy, and wouldn't you rather have a carrot?

Horse Play
Oil
SOLD
Here are a couple new wild horses paintings that really make me smile!
When I feel like painting horses, it really is so much fun.
The powerful, sculptural shape of their muscular bodies really goes well with the palette knife
and the whimsical colors are like icing on the cake!

Abstract Wild Horses - original oil painting by Karen Tarlton

Horse Play
SOLD
A horse is an angel without wings.

Absolutely one of my favorite animals and my favorite to paint for sure.  The grace, power, and beauty of these animals in motion is so much fun to paint with my knife.  Capturing movement and energy is pure joy.  Hope you enjoy!

Wild Horses

Title: Wild Horses
24x30
Oil
SOLD
I love painting these wild horses running and powerful in bold color and thick, thick buttery oils. I am itching to paint larger and larger these days and more and more wild. Pops of red and teal so the horses explode off the canvas.
This large painting is almost dry....just needs a few more days!
Thanks for checking in!
