Original oil painting - abstract Nude palette knife figurative fine art

After the Bath

9x12

Oil

This original oil has a unique combination of color, texture, and form. Painted with abstract texture and intentional use of color. I love to generate movement and drama in a soft, impressionistic narrative.

Just dry and listing soon!

Taking Flight

12x12

Oil

I can't quite decide what genre of I enjoy the most. I take it day by day. Today was one of the windiest days I can remember. Lawn furniture blew down the street. Tennis was canceled and at my daughter's school, large metal trash cans were rolling around the parking lot as if it were a ski race. The wind makes me crazy and grumpy but painting a daily inspiration always makes me happy! I hope whatever your day was like, this helps lift your spirits!

The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science.

"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see."
Edgar Degas
"It is all very well to copy what one sees, but it is far better to draw what one now only sees in one's memory. That is a transformation in which imagination collaborates with memory."

Edgar Degas

I love the paintings of the French impressionist Degas and this one was a bit inspired by him. I often live by this last quote when I paint. I rarely look at images anymore because I see things so clearly in my mind and it is so much more exciting to paint from my imagination!

I hope you enjoy!
