ABOUT THE PAINTING:

I have painted these wonderful pond flowers with abstract relflections several times and it is always so much fun. I use many layers of rich winsor newton artist oils and literally start sculpting with my favorite knife. Each lily pops right off the canvas. I have lots of knives but like my small one best. This colorful piece is vibrant and will add color to any room and sophistication to any art collection.

PAINTING:

I used a knife and loaded it up thick. I painted a deep blue/black underpainting using a mixture of transparent paint colors so the yellow greens and soft whites really pop.

INSPIRATION:

This painting is a continuation of my water series. I love the colors of reflective water, and the combination of flowers and the deep pond water colors.
