Original oil painting - First Winter Snow - impressionism impasto by Karen Tarlton

First Winter Snow
One of my first Winter landscapes this year.  I'm ready for some cooler weather and am looking forward to October and November this year.  This thick impasto painting is perfect to warm up any small space and looks great with or without a frame.

Fall Fly Fishing by Karen Tarlton

Fall Fly Fishing

"There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind". ~Washington Irving

"Somebody just back of you while you are fishing is as bad as someone looking over your shoulder while you write a letter to your girl. " ~Ernest Hemingway

I don't fish myself but have many relatives and friends that do and I love to watch them fish. It's quite an art! I also love to eat the fish they catch......fresh with a little lemon, butter and dill! Of course I love to paint them most of all.

Holidays are coming before you know it, so if you need the perfect gift...look me up soon.

Original oil painting End of Summer impressionism by Karen Tarlton

End of Summer

"A cure for anything is salt water, sweat, tears, or the sea." ~ Isak Dinesen

Love painting the sea in rich texture and bold palette knife movements!  Warm sandy colors play against cool blues of sky and water.
What is better than a stroll on the beach with someone you love?

Blue Iris and Bees - original oil painting by Karen Tarlton

Iris and Bees

"Every artist dips his own brush
Into his soul
And paints his own nature into his pictures." ~ Henry Ward Beecher

Garden inspired art and a bit Van Gogh inspired I must admit.  He has always been one of my favorite impressionist painters.  The first whimsical artist of his time.  Hope this makes you smile......
