Hydrangeas by Karen Tarlton

THIS PAINTING IS SOLD!

Hydrangeas
20x24
Oil

One of my favorite flowers! There are so many beautiful almost irridecent colors in this flower that it is perfect to paint. I love how it changes color as the summer progresses. My 30 year old plant in Arlington VA changes from pink to blue and the blooms are the size of cabbages!
Lots of rich thick oil on this for added texture!

"The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life." ~William Faulkner
