Sunset Harbor and San Diego trip

Title: Sunset Harbor
20x24
Oil
SOLD
Below is a photo of Mike wishing we lived on the water now....so beautiful!

We just got back from San Diego!! Took our daughter to her freshman orientation at college and she toured several. She has her heart set on San Diego and loved USD. What a wonderful place and such an honor that she was selected to go there and with an academic scholarship too!!
It was rainy and cold and it NEVER is rainy and cold in SD, except maybe 6 days a year.....we hit the day. Hence my photos are gray and dreary but my paintings need not be. I know how beautiful the place can glow in full sun so I put all that color in my oil painting above.
Thanks for checking in!

I love this new canvas size! Both vertical and horizontal, it's fun to work with. Here the yellow and gold really pop set against the violet backgound and teal, red and blue accents are blended about.

commission

Finished commission......24x36
I love how this one turned out. There is something so special about a road that draws you in a calm, soothing way. Peaceful.

Here the painting is about half way finished. Darks and lights are blocked in on road, trees and sky. Next I paint several more layers with palette knife in shades of green and carve in vines.

Yes my neighbor's cat came over again to watch me paint. I'm not sure why he likes me....I'm totally allergic, but he loves me so I have to like him.

I love to paint special commissions for you. Just need an image that you love. A special photo of a place or person.

This large painting is almost dry....just needs a few more days!

Mama Watching the Nest

Title: Mama Bird Watching the Nest
16 x 20
Oil
sold
Always a favorite of mine. Maybe because I was born to be a Mom, or because I love nature, and the special quality of birds and nests. I paint these super thick with lots of texture so they take awhile to dry, and I'm working on a very large one that I'll post soon.
I've had many request for these in various colors, so I'm always happy to paint a special one for you if you like!
Available for purchase on my Etsy....link to the right.
This painting is in a lovely treasury on Etsy too!

Ladies in the Rain

Two 6x6 inch fashion inspired.....ladies in the rain paintings!

I've been painting both very large and very small the past few weeks. These tiny palette knife works are so much fun to paint. I think these two would look great together on a wall. Many people hang smaller pieces in groupings and framed or unframed they look great.
Available on my Etsy....link to the right!

Times Square NY Midnight

Title: Times Square NY Midnight
Size: 24 x 36
Oil
SOLD
Part of last weeks city series.....this NY scene is a favorite of mine. Modern and energetic. I love NY and love the electric feeling of Times Square! This is thick and chunky palette knife work and it is still just a bit wet.
Dry soon and ready to hang!
I worked on several wild horse paintings this morning. I get caught up in whatever I am painting and like to paint them in a series. At least a couple more in me I think.
Super Bowl is over!!! Back to a nice quiet house around here, and I'm already thinking about what I'll paint tomorrow!

Fall Love

Title: Fall Love
16 x 20
Oil
"Everyday you spend without a smile, is a day lost."
LOVE, love, love....love is all you need! And a really warm coat! It's even cold here in Vegas so I really feel for all the people in cold places like Chicago....yikes! Bundle up and stay warm and keep the faith...Spring will come. Ground hog says, early this year and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
This painting is thick and has lots of cool blues which makes that yellow/gold fall tree pop right off the canvas. Hope this one brings a smile and warms your heart!
Thanks for checking in!
