"There are only two way to live your life: as though nothing is a miracle, or as though everything is a miracle. " ~ Albert Einstein
I guess I am a complete romantic at heart. I met my husband.....love at first sight when I was 16 years old and we've been together 29 years. Need I say more?
My romance landscapes come from my heart, and I am honored when they find a place in yours!
Remember to always.....live, laugh and love!
More to come!

Angel

Both angels SOLD!
These two angel paintings were inspired by a collector of mine who suggested I paint an angel. He would like a very large commission so I am painting some smaller studies.
These oil paintings are 9x12

I feel so blessed in my life so angels are very appropriate. I've collected little miniature carved wooden angels for years and have always been inspired by the notion....I don't know why I haven't painted them before. I know this will be the beginning of a new series! I think they make great gifts for a loved one, a new mother, a special friend or beloved daughter, mother or grandmother!
Let me know what you think!

I love the Cotswolds, although it was a little cold for me when we visited last Spring....and of course it was raining a bit. But it is the most adorable place. We stayed in a town called Bourton on the Water, a place right out of a Peter Rabbit story....Lovely!

Here are a few more you might like....all three just listed on my Etsy! See link to the right.

Night Romance

Title: Night Romance
Large Original Oil 24x36
"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for~ Georgia O'Keeffe
I like this quote for it seems I am often at a loss for words. I don't paint this large often but lately have had an urge to paint big! Huge amounts of paint on this canvas and it really lights up the room.....
I hope it inspires you!

Warm Glow of Night

Here is an example of a pet portrait and I love to paint these!
This is my little Maggie and I think I captured her perfectly!
Let me know if you are interested in a painting of your pet!

SOLD

Title: Warm Glow of Night

Oil painted large.....20x24

Rich deep pulls of color. This painting adds dramatic impact to a space and bold color.
Available for purchase....see my Etsy link to the right of my blog.

Didn't get much sleep last night....my Maggie dog spent the night very sick. We took her to the vet yesterday morning after discovering she devoured a huge bag of chocolates my daughter left on the ground of her room....this is an 18 lb dog. The vet gave her a hygrogen peroxide blend to make her vomit most of the chocolate, but a lot of it had already entered her system. Taking her probably saved her life though because she was getting very very sick and now I think she's much improved. I'm glad she's alright! Poor dog.

Wild and Free

Title: Wild and Free
23x36
Oil
SOLD
Still wet but available for purchase....see Etsy link to the right for more details.
Painted in honor of our daughter's 18th birthday today! This one reminds me of her and is symbolic on many levels. She is a beautiful young woman and has a soaring and colorful spirit. She just found out she got an academic scholorship to an excellent university in SD and we are so excited for her. Just as this wild horse seems to almost lift off in flight, she will soon be moving on to her new life and I can't even begin to say how proud I am of her and how heart wrenching it is at the same time to know the child stage of my parenting is successfully complete! She may be all grown up but she will always be my baby girl!
I love this painting's soul and youthful energy....I hope you enjoy it too!

Crimson and Gold

SOLD
Title: Crimson and Gold
10x20
Oil
Birch color! Great texture...super thick. This is available but need at least a week drying time before it can be shipped.
See my Etsy link to the right for purchase!
People say my paintings are cheerful and I suppose they are, as so much as a tree can be joyous I guess mine are. I am generally a positive and content person so I guess my work demonstrates that. I think the bright colors contribute to this feeling and certainly when you hang my "happy" paintings on your walls, they must bring smiles....I hope so.
Happy Friday all!

I love painting landscapes with thick paint and rich color! This painting is large and would make quite a focal point in any room.

"Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and winds long to play with your hair."--Kahlil Gabran
I love this one.....I love to capture the movement, spirit and powerful energy of these graceful animals and have found the magic of oil and knife is the best way to do it. Thick and rich oils dragged in multiple directions like icing on cake. I love it!

Sailing into the Sun

Sailing into the Sunset
9x12
I love this sweet little painting and the contrast of yellows and blues.
SOLD
Today I needed to paint some water, which always gives me a sense of calm. Just too much violence and sadness on the news tonight. I think this particular painting carries with it all that emotion and tells its own quiet story.
Thanks for checking in this Monday and remember to live, love, laugh and be kind to one another....everyone!

Sailing Beyond the Wildflowers

I'm totally allergic to cats but for some reason everywhere we live, and we move every few years, cats find me. This one belongs to my neighbor but he comes on in and hangs out with me while I paint everyday, for the last 3 months or so. I swear he is the reincarnation of a cat I had a few years ago. He's not at all afraid of our dog, in fact Maggie is a little scared of him, and just makes himself at home. I'm taking allergy pills again I guess.....he's my muse.

A tranquil little landscape in rich thick oil with palette knife and brush. Vivid blues and greens reminds me of Scotland.

These are two of my favorite fisherman paintings. It's amazing how light can change a scene and it's always challenging and so much fun to paint reflective water in varying light. Lots of drags of rich oil in each of these, and vibrant color!

"A heart that loves is always young."--Greek Proverb
We are expecting a mix of snow and ice rain here tonight. I'm missing the warm sun like some of you, so maybe this one will warm your heart. Warm color fills the canvas and I feel this painting is all about love, with it's bright color and positive energy, hence the title.
